6. Your image should now look similar to this:




7. Create a new layer. Select the lasso tool (L) from the toolbox and draw a curved selection around the top portion of the logo as shown below:





8. Set the foreground color to white. Select the gradient tool (G) from the toolbox. Go to the options bar and click on the gradient thumbnail. Choose the foreground to transparent gradient (second from the left) and click OK.




9. Draw a gradient from the bottom to the top of the selection.





10. Change the Blending mode of the gradient layer to Overlay. Now link the two layers together. Next, press Ctrl+G to create a clipping group.
